On iPhone, WhatsApp tests its new animated message bubbles.
This time, WhatsApp is testing animated message bubbles on iOS with a separate setting that lets users select whether or not to enable the visual effects. On the iPhone, WhatsApp is testing a new animation for message bubbles, reintroducing a feature that was removed in a previous update. The feature was spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS, available through Apple’s TestFlight program. WABetaInfo claims that the update introduces a redesigned animation effect that smooths out the appearance of incoming and outgoing messages within chats.
Message bubbles now fade in and slightly scale up before
settling into the conversation rather than appearing immediately on the screen.
The change is meant to make chats feel and look more polished visually. WhatsApp
is also adding a dedicated control that lets users disable message animations
for a simpler experience, in contrast to the previous implementation. Users are
able to manage a variety of animation effects through the new option, which can
be found under Settings > Chats > Animations.
Users will have greater control over how WhatsApp behaves
thanks to the addition of this setting, which joins the controls for animated
emojis, stickers, and GIFs. The fact that the feature is currently being tested
on iOS after first appearing in WhatsApp's Android beta last week suggests that
Meta is getting ready to bring the experience to both platforms.
WABetaInfo says that only a few beta testers have access to
the new animation. Before a public rollout, as is frequently the case with
WhatsApp beta features, additional testing is anticipated. The public launch of
animated message bubbles has not yet been officially scheduled. However, the
feature may be made available to all WhatsApp users in a subsequent update, as testing
is currently underway on both Android and iPhone. The move demonstrates
WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to improve the messaging experience by giving users
more control over customization and accessibility preferences and making minor
but observable interface enhancements.
