In some parts of Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports have described people smoking dried scorpions in the belief that it produces psychoactive effects.

 Interviews with the media claim that dried scorpions are burned and the smoke, which sometimes contains tobacco or other substances, is inhaled. Some users have claimed the experience lasts for several hours and includes altered perception, visual distortions, and the sensation that objects are moving or “dancing.”

 Despite these accounts, there is no solid scientific evidence to suggest that smoking scorpions consistently results in a specific high or a high that lasts approximately 10 hours. Most claims come from anecdotal reports rather than controlled research.

 Scorpion venom is made up of complex proteins and peptides that target the nervous system by affecting ion channels.  A sting can cause severe pain, difficulty breathing, irregular heartbeats, neurological problems, and, in severe cases, even death. When scorpion venom and tissue are burned and inhaled, scientists still don't know much about what happens to them, so the practice's biological effects are largely unknown. 📌 Source: Reports from Pakistani media and published research on scorpion venom pharmacology.
