     Following the recent terrorist attacks in India, a quote frequently attributed to Russian President Vladimir Putin reads, "Forgiving terrorists is God's job." Sending them to Him is my job.”   However, there is no established proof that Vladimir Putin actually said this. The quote has circulated online for many years and is frequently attributed to him, but researchers and fact-checkers have been unable to find an official speech, interview, or Kremlin transcript containing these exact words. 

  Despite the uncertain origin of the quote, it is often shared during discussions on terrorism because it conveys a message of taking firm action against violent extremist groups.  Russia has consistently maintained a hard-line policy against terrorism, and Putin has repeatedly stated that terrorist organizations should be dealt with decisively through security operations and law enforcement.   Similarly, India has also emphasized a policy of zero tolerance toward terrorism, with successive governments highlighting the importance of national security, intelligence coordination, and counterterrorism measures.

  Terrorist attacks evoke strong emotions and often lead to the circulation of powerful quotes, images, and messages on social media.  However, it is important to distinguish between verified statements and popular internet quotations that cannot be traced to reliable sources.  Sharing accurate information helps maintain informed public discussion and prevents the spread of misinformation during sensitive situations.
